Organize for University

University is a completely new way of life for most people and it comes as a shock to most people involved due to the sheer change in the way you have to conduct yourself. Your routines change, your schedules become more and more filled with classes and activities but most of all, work begins to take over your life.

One of the best things that you can do is to become more organised at University and there are many ways in which you can help sort your own life out! Many people find that using things like diaries and productivity/calendar applications on their gizmos helps them to sort out their assignments, their classes and their social time and I have to agree that this is the best course of action. The worst thing that you can do whilst at University is to not organize your life because you will find that you will fall behind in assignments and when it comes to revision time, if you haven’t organised those folders you are in trouble my friend! It is crucial that you ensure that you have many folders ready to handle the immense amount of paperwork and notes you will receive but also that you organize the folders perfectly.

I find that sorting them in tasks (With the notes for each task/lecture behind the main paperwork) works for me but we each have our own different method. Either way, if you sort out your work now, it will make revising that much easier as you can just plough straight into it but if you haven’t organised, you’ll find you will spend a lot of time moving paper about and fiddling instead of actually learning.

A quote comes to mind here that if you ‘Fail to prepare, prepare to fail’ and that is a perfect quote to live by in University. I always am prepared. I have folders in my office which are separated and easy to find what I need for all my financials, work and jobs online ect. This is a very smart thing to do in my opinion and it will help for studying.

If you do not get organized you will find many problems that won’t go away for a long time. Do you want to play a video game? Maybe so, but you should make sure you have all your work and revision prepared or done before you go to play the video game. University will not wait for you and you will find that you are forever struggling to complete the work that has flown by in the time you have been trying to catch up with your previous work. Be prepared and you will do the best you can at University when you put the effort in.

  1. I agree with what you are saying here. When I was in University I used to have a lot of issues with my organisation and this led me to fall behind but I quickly realised how important it was and started to do better. You can only do education once!
